An official press conference was held to announce another big middleweight encounter for the fall. Former IBF middleweight champ Sebastian Sylvester (34-4-1) goes for the vacant EBU title against Polish opponent Grzegorz Proksa (25-0). The fight takes place on October 1 in Neubrandenburg at the Jahnsport Forum, where Sylvester is very popular, and Sauerland Event promotes the show. Proksa, promoted by Matchroom, has previously held the EU crown. The winner of this fight will have ex-WBC titleholder Sebastian Zbik as the mandatory challenger. The EBU title was left vacant by Darren Barker.
