Photos: Ricky Burns Shocks Gonzalez - Massive Gallery

Emirates Arena, Glasgow, Scotland - Ricky Burns (36-2, 11KOs) got a shocking TKO win over undefeated mandatory challenger Jose Gonzalez (22-1, 17KOs) to retain the WBO lightweight crown in ten rounds. Gonzalez appeared to get the better of Burns for most of the fight, but punched himself out after trying to finish off the hurt champion in the seventh, and then it was downhill from there as the Puerto Rican boxer had spent all of his energy. Gonzalez would not come out for the tenth round.

'Gonzalez Shocks Ricky Burns, Then Quits' might be a better title.
