Toluca, State of Mexico - The Entertainment Center Music Hall in Toluca, Mexico, will be the venue for Saturday's big card with two of Mexico's champions, Giovani "Aztec Warrior" Segura (27-1-1, 23 KOs) and Guadalajara's Miguel "Puppet" Vazquez. The event, NIGHT OF THE CHAMPIONS, is promoted by Zanfer and Farsay Promotions and will be broadcast across the United States by Fox Sports, in Mexico by TV Azteca.
After achieving a really strong pair of wins, the two World Champions come in as heavy favorites to come out with their hands raised in Toluca, but the Venezuelan Eddy Zúñiga (7-5-1, 1 KO) and the Nicaraguan Marlon "Rata" Aguilar will do everything possible to change the outcome.
After the knockout of Ivan Calderon, Segura returns to the ring to try his luck in the flyweight division, where he hopes to contest for a world championship in 2011.
"I always said that boxing is one of the toughest sports, you require so much in the gym but it gives you rewards," said Giovani. "So I worked hard to pursue my dreams, I've already achieved some of the goals that I had, but I'm going for more."
Vazquez, who recently renewed contract with Zanfer, predicted a fight with a strong dose of adrenaline with Aguilar.
"Let's give the public what they deserve, a great fight and I will be ready for whatever he brings. I'm at my best and definitely do not see how he can win," said the lightweight champion of the International Boxing Federation [IBF].
