By Rafael Soto, photos by Chris Farina/Top Rank LOS ANGELES, California - Mexico's Miguel "Puppet" Vazquez will defend his IBF world lightweight championship on Oct. 27 against Tijuana's Marvin Quintero at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York.
Vazquez (31-3, 13 KO's) of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico will be making the fourth defense of his International Boxing Federation (IBF) championship against Quintero (25-3, 21 KOs) in an HBO televised fight.
Vazquez is preparing at the Azteca Gym in Los Angeles, California. "I'm working hard for this fight. I know that I have to be at my best to win this fight and prove I'm the best lightweight in the world," said the native of Guadalajara.
"I feel like I'm having the best time of my career and I will demonstrate that on the 27th of October."

Granted he may not be the best promoted fighter in the division and I do believe that he is being avoided by some, but it takes more than W's aga... |

one of the most avoided fighters in the game, and for good reason. ALL risk and low reward, but lil puppet is a natural craftsman in the game. Can't wait to see him dismantle this division. |

if this is the same marvin quintero i think it is (showbox kid. jr lw / lw with fast hands,) he has a sh#t chin.
vasquez isn't really a life taker, but i think there's a gap in class between the two, and i can see quintero being stopped.
that said, quintero is a good offensive fighter,... |

Titere Vazques is the onlyone that can give Broner his first lose, he has the experience, the speed (not as much as Broner) but acurate speed, and the craftyness to overcome broners adventage on speed, in addition to all that "Titere" is what...5'10"?
