Los Angeles, California - Former world champion Rodel "Kid Rapid" Mayol is now in Los Angeles completing his preparation for his title bout against WBA flyweight champion Hernan "Tyson" Marquez, which takes place on March 24 in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico.

Mayol (30-5-2, 22 KOs) of Cebu, Philippines had trained for over two months in the Philippines before flying over to Los Angeles to complete his preparation at the Wild Card Boxing Club, which is owned by Freddie Roach.

"I'm a 100% ready for the fight against Mexico's Marquez, who I will beat on his own land and in front of his own people. I did more than 100 rounds of sparring in Cebu City and now I'm just working on my fitness and keeping my weight down," Mayol said.

"He's a great champion, strong, but he has many shortcomings that I'll take advantage of. He does not impress me. It will be a great fight, but the world title I'll be taking back to the Philippines and then I want to unify with [Brian] Viloria and [Sonny Boy] Jaro."

It´ll be a good test for mini-Tyson, if he isn´t at 100% Mayol could take his belt.
