Photos: Matthysse-Molina Huge Knockdown War Gallery

By German Villasenor and Dave Perini

StubHub Center, Carson, California - Junior welterweight Lucas Matthysse (35-3, 33KOs) returned for the first time since last September's decision loss to Danny Garcia and survived two knockdowns from a hungry and hard-hitting John Molina (27-4, 22KOs). Matthysse had to rally in the second half of the contest, using hard punches with both hands to score three knockdowns of his own for an eventual eleventh round knockout.
It's an entertaining fight, but not FOTY material. It's a one-sided beating.
If it was a one-sided beating why did Lucas taste the canvas twice??

It's an entertaining fight, but not FOTY material. It's a one-sided beating.
