Photos: Luis Cruz Deal Announced By Arum, Miguel Cotto

Hall of Fame Promoter Bob Arum, CEO of Top Rank, and five time world champion Miguel Cotto, CEO of Miguel Cotto Promotions, announced on Tuesday, on a beautiful setting at the luxurious Ritz Carlton Hotel and Casino, in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico, to have reached an agreement to co-promote hot talent and world challenger Luis "El Artesano" Cruz (18-0; 14KO) from Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. 

Luis Cruz had been an exclusive Miguel Cotto Promotions fighter since his first fight as a professional.  In a conference room packed with media, partners Bob Arum and Miguel Cotto shared their plans to jointly take Cruz to world champion and future superstar. 

Arum commented: "Luis has a bright future; he has an incredible talent and a deep fan appeal.  The biggest draw and most popular fighter on the Island after Miguel Cotto and Juan López." 

Miguel Cotto added: "My company developed Luis from rookie, to prospect, to world title challenger.  This alliance and partnership with Bob and Top Rank is the next step - from challenger to champion, with the same tools that Top Rank developed my career to the highest levels of the sport.  We make a great team, and together we will open all doors of success to Luis, for his glory and the glory of Puerto Rico." 

A visibly excited and emotional Luis Cruz concluded: This is my dream.  I have worked hard to be here, and will not stop until reaching the top.  I will fight anyone in my division, and will reach my ultimate goal of becoming the next great Puerto Rican superstar.  Thank you to Miguel and Bob for this, and I will not let you down". 

Mr. Arum closed the conference with good news, informing to have reached an agreement with Gabriel Peñagarícano, Esq., counsel for Miguel Cotto, regarding Cruz' next two fights: the first one on September 24th as the main event in the Top Rank Live series, aired by Fox Sports, and then the second one on November 12th in the televised undercard of the Pacquiao-Márquez PPV event in Las Vegas.

If theres anyone that knows how to develope talent its Arum. Im sure he will have some solid but winnable fights before they step it up and get him in there with some big names.

Good for Cruz,I think he has potential to go far, I wouldn't say superstar. do u blood, and don't listen to the haters....Damn these chicos hate Boricuas. lol.
