Photos: Klitschko, Thompson Face Off at The Weigh-In

By Jake Donovan

Wladimir Klitschko and Tony Thompson have done their best to insist that things will be very different in their rematch this Saturday at Stade de Suisse in Bern, Switzerland.

Friday’s trip to the scales for the official weigh-in serves as a good starting point.

Klitschko came in at a career-high 249.12 lb, while Thompson’s weight of 244.71 lb was his lightest in more than five years.

The bout is a rematch to their heavyweight championship almost four years ago to the date.

Thompson (36-2, 24KO) was brave early on but fell apart in the second half and suffered an 11th round knockout, the lone stoppage loss of his career. The American challenger has since won five straight, though has not fought since scoring a third round knockout of Maurice Harris last May.

Klitschko (57-3, 50KO) makes the 5th defense of his lineal title reign and the 12th defense of his third alphabet reign which extends back to April ’06. The fight is his first in Switzerland, though marks his sixth straight stadium fight where an attendance of 32,000 is expected for the heavyweight bout.

The event airs live on premium network EPIX at 4:30PM ET/1:30PM PT. The show will also stream live on its website at EpixHD.com and on the Jumbotron at Times Square in New York City.
