Photos: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Wins Gold Mega Gallery

Staples Center, Los Angeles, California - Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (43-0-1, 30KOs) captured the WBC middleweight title with a twelve round majority decision over previously undefeated Sebastian Zbik (30-1, 10KOs). The scores were 114-114 for the draw, 115-113 and 116-112 for Chavez. Photos by Chris Farina/Top Rank and Rafael Soto.

Featherweight contender Mikey Garcia (26-0, 22KOs) knocked out late-replacement Rafael Guzman (28-3, 20KOs) in four rounds. After a good first round by the taller Guzman, Garcia came back in the second with hard combinations to open up a cut above the right eye of Guzman. Garcia dished out a minor beating the third, and then a straight right hand decked Guzman down hard in the fourth. Guzman tried to get up and stumbled back down to the mat, which forced the referee to wave off the fight.

In a twelve round WBC junior middleweight title eliminator Vanes Martirosyan finally seems ready to go after the big name fighters - after winning by way of a hotly contested seven round stoppage over Saul Roman. Martirosyan, who also picks up the WBC's Silver belt for his troubles, improves to 30-0 (19KOs) and is now in line for a shot at Saul Alvarez's WBC title.  Roman falls to 34-9 (29KOs).
