Photos: Jorge Paez Jr. Claims WBC Silver Belt in Mexicali

Jorge Paez Jr. racked up perhaps the biggest win of his career with a majority decision over former title challenger Charlie Jose Navarro in their 10-round welterweight bout Saturday evening in Mexicali, Mexico. Scores were 94-94 even, 96-95 and 98-92 for Paez Jr., who overcame a slow start to rally back and take a hard-fought decision. Paez Jr. advances to 33-4-1 (19KO) with the win, his sixth straight. Navarro heads home with a two-fight win streak snapped as he falls to 22-6 (17KO).
