Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport has labelled Wembley Stadium as the "ultimate" venue for Carl Froch's rematch against George Groves after it was announced the May 31 bout will take place at the national stadium. Last fall Groves dropped Froch in the first round and then battered him for the first half of the fight. Froch staged a late rally to gain a controversial stoppage in the ninth round, when referee Howard Foster jumped in too early to wave off the fight as Froch was attempting to finish Groves off. The IBF then ordered an immediate rematch.

He needs to be sure and get Mr. Double S, Steve Smoger! Won't be no premature stoppages with him in there. One of the two would leave on a stretcher before he's gonna call it. Who y'all want reffing the rematch??

Beautiful stadium! Froch did not look too good against groves the first time out, But I think going 9 rounds with Groves will have him mentally ready - he knows what Groves can do now, so it should limit his mistakes from the first fight. Glad they forced the Cobra into the rematch!
