Photos: Hatton, Senchenko Face To Face at Weigh-In

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND - Former champions Ricky Hatton and Vyacheslav Senchenko go face to face at at the Manchester Town Hall in Manchester, England. Hatton and Senchenko both weighed in at 10st 6lb 10oz [146-pounds] for their welterweight fight at the Manchester Arena on Saturday night.

Former world two-weight world champion Hatton, 34, is making his comeback three years after a crushing defeat to Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas, and tipped the scales before shaking hands with his opponent.

Hatton told jubilant fans afterwards: "You've done it again for me haven't you? You've always been there for me. The support. The people who've paid for the tickets. The people who've stuck up for me in these last three years since I've been away. Well I'm back now and I won't let you down on Saturday night. You watch."

Senchenko, 35, suffered his first defeat in his last bout when he was stopped by Paulie Malignaggi - a victim of Hatton's back in 2008. The Ukrainian visitor is a year older than Hatton but boasts a 13cm reach advantage and is expected to provide a solid acid test for the Mancunian's hopes of an Indian summer.
Ricky is the much smaller man and he proved that he couldn't take a solid punch himself at 147 when he was active in the ring: KO'd against Mayweather and badly hurt against Collazo.

KO'd after 10 rounds…

Any mancs here who can shed a bit more light on Hatton's preparations? I've heard talk out of Manchester that he's looked dreadful in sparring.

If he has to go 12 hard, solid rounds, Hatton might be in trouble. Apart from that I can see no reason whatsoever why he wouldnt beat Shenchenko.

although i'm pretty confident hatton is just a class above senchenko, one fight that keeps popping into my head as a point of comparison is rees-kotelnik.
