Photos: Gilberto Ramirez Inks His Top Rank Contract

LAS VEGAS, NEV.  -- Top Rank and Zanfer Promotions who have sign top undefeated Top-Five middleweight contender GILBERTO "Zurdo" RAMÍREZ are happy to partner with Zapari Boxing to promote one of the top Mexicans boxers.

Ramirez (24-0, 19 KOs), from Mazatlan, Sinaloa, México, captured the World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth middleweight title in 2010 and has successfully defended it six time throughout his three-year reign.  Currently world-rated No. 4 by the WBC and No. 6 by the World Boxing Association (WBA), Ramiíez, 21, is a former Méxican Junior National Champion and a three-time National Méxican National Amateur Champion in the Elite Division.

"This is a huge signing for Top Rank and Zanfer and words cannot express how excited we are to be promoting him," said Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum.  "The sky is the limit for Gilberto.  I expect him to have a glorious reign as world champion."

Ramirez who is promoted by Zapari Boxing of Mazatlan, looks forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Top Rank.

"I am very grateful to Bob Arum for showed an interested in promoting me and it’s a great motivation for me at this time in my career. I am sure that with Top Rank by my side I will be able to achieved everything I want in boxing, become a world champion and become one of the best boxers in the world,” said Ramirez.

Jesus and Hector Zapari, of Zapari Boxing are also happy their young boxer will be part of such a historic company that once promoted the top middleweight in the world, Marvin Hagler, among many greats in this division.

“We are happy to partner with Top Rank and Zanfer Promotions in the development of Gilberto. Bob Arum has been very successful in this business for a long time and will take Gilberto to the highest level of the sport. He has talent and dedication and Top Rank has the know how to make him a global star,” said Hector Zapari.

Why do these as[COLOR="Black"]sh[/COLOR]oles always have to fu[COLOR="Black"]cki[/COLOR]ng point at each other in photos? Is there a law that states that boxers must point at the person they are standing next to when a picture is taken?
