Puerto Rican Olympian Felix Verdejo (9-0, 6KOs) is training hard for his return on January 25th at the Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York City. Verdejo will take on fellow undefeated Lauro Alcantar (8-0, 1KO). It will be the first bout of the year for Verdejo, who turned pro in December of 2012 and fought 8 times in 2013. The event will be headlined by a super featherweight clash between Mikey Garcia and Juan Carlos Burgos. Photos by Joel Colon and Peter Amador.

There is another kid in that gym, Midyael Sanchez, with solid skills. He is still in the AM and we might not see him until after the olympics. But he seems to have the goods too.

In that same training session he was interviewed afterwards and he stated that in the future he'd like to avenge his L in the Olympics to Lomachencko.
