Photos: Felix Sturm Power Training Hard For Soliman

IBF World Middleweight Champion Felix Sturm is just weeks away from his first title defense. On May 31, Sturm will enter the ring at the KoenigPALAST in Krefeld, Germany, against mandatory challenger Sam Soliman from Australia. To give you an insight into Sturm’s preparation we hosted a Media Day earlier.

Felix Sturm: “I’m excited about Krefeld. It’s a great arena, the atmosphere will be electric. A lot has happened since I first fought Soliman. I learned from my mistakes and I’m much more disciplined now. I’m not emotional about this fight. I’m just doing my job and I love doing it. I enjoy every day of training and I’m in tip-top shape. Soliman will be surprised. He doesn’t know what’s coming for him. He’s the challenger, I’m the world champion. And I will remain world champion.”

Fritz Sdunek: “Felix has developed a lot. Especially considering his weight, he’s much more disciplined now. We can focus on the important things. We finished the first couple of sparring days and Felix is in an astonishing shape. Soliman should better be ready.”

Tickets for Sturm vs. Soliman 2 on May 31, 2014 at the KoenigPALAST in Krefeld, Germany, can be bought online at and at or by calling +49-186-570070.

Sturm will never be a big puncher, no matter how much iron he pumps.
