Photos: Felix Diaz vs. Leosvy Mayedo Sparring Work

By Reynaldo Sanchez

Last Friday, Dominican southpaw welterweight contender Felix Diaz held a six round sparring session against Leosvy Mayedo at the Caicedo Sports gym in Miami, Florida.

Díaz 12-0-0 (6 KO's) and his trainer German Caicedo, believe they are going to fight for  a regional title in the near future.

“I'm training to fight in the Dominican Republic in October. We don't even have a designated opponent but that does not worry us," Diaz said

Felix Diaz is a young prospect who competed in the Athens Olympic Games in 2004 and captured a gold medal in Beijing in 2008 as a lightweight. He made his professional debut in the Dominican Republic in June 2009, and now he will continue his career at 147 pounds. He and his trainers have big expectations for the future.
