Photos: Deontay Wilder Blasts Scott, Juanma Clocks Ponce

Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez, Bayamon, Puerto Rico - In a super featherweight battle of former champions, Juan Manuel Lopez (34-3, 31KOs) stopped Daniel Ponce De Leon (45-6, 35KOs) in the second round. Juanma was dropped in the second, but then came back to drop Ponce De Leon twice, and then forced the stoppage. The was a rematch of their 2008 super bantamweight encounter, which Juanma won by knockout in the first round.

In a WBC semi-heavyweight eliminator, Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31KOs) destroyed Malik Scott (36-2-1, 13KOs) with a first round knockout. Scott came out circling as Wilder used his jab. A left hand, followed by a straight right hand that cracked Scott on his face - sent him crashing down to the mat. Scott struggled to get to his feet, but he was unable to get up before the count of ten. Wilder now moves forward in search for a heavyweight title in 2014.
