Photos: Chavez-Paez II Final Presser - Punches Erupt

By Rafael Soto

The final press conference was held for Saturday's big show at the Municipal Auditorium in Tijuana. For the main attraction, Jorge "Maromerito" Paez (31-4-1, 19 KOs) will take on Omar "Businessman" Chavez (28-1-1, 21 KOs) in a rematch for the International silver welterweight championship of the World Boxing Council (WBC).

In the co-feature, a war or words erupted and the two fighters started trading punches, as undefeated Bryan Vasquez (28-0-0, 14 KOs), the interim-super featherweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), brawled with Mexican challenger Jorge Lacierva (41-8-6, 27 KOs). Both fighters landed with quick punches before the handlers were able to break them apart.

I can't wait for this fight. It will be a big setback for Omar if he loses here. I give mad props to Paez Jr for winning the first fight.

If I remember rightly Paez Snr lived in Fresno or somewhere like that. Did Paez Jnr ever live in the US or has he spent his entire life in Mexico? I loved watching both their dads fight. Especially Paez.
