Here is what Andy Vences had to say:

On returning in a 10-round main event on UniMas:

"It is big. This is my second time main eventing an UniMas card and that means they have big plans for me. I know there will be a step-up in the next fight or two, so I am just mentally preparing myself and getting better and better every fight. It really means a lot to have UniMas and Top Rank's support.”

On his matchup with Angel Hernandez:

“Angel Hernandez is coming to win, he has coming forward style, always in front of your face, always pushing you to the limits. They can expect fireworks from I would say the second round on.”

On his recent training camp:

“This camp has gone good. I got a new trainer, Angel Cordon, because I am at a new level and I needed a trainer that would take me to the next level. I feel Angel Cordon and my second trainer, Mike Bazell, will take me to that level. I need to be busier in fights, throw more punches and that is what I plan on doing. I know I like to fight at distance, but in this fight I plan on mixing it up fighting at distance and on the inside. So come March 10th I will be ready for anything that presents itself.

On fighting 2 hours from San Jose, CA:

“It is cool, a lot of people who couldn't make it to Las Vegas for my title over Casey Ramos will be in Lemoore, Ca. Fighting in Vegas, I really enjoyed it and it felt like a mini-vacation for everyone, but fighting here back home feels great. I plan on making a statement against Angel Hernandez. I understand people are writing me off since in 2016 I didn't get a knockout, but what people have to understand is that I am fighting a higher level of competition and it gets harder to finish fighters at this level.
