By Richard Cloutier At the official weigh-in held at the NRJ Studio in Montreal for tomorrow's Fast and Furious card at the Bell Centre, all of the boxers managed to comply with the weight limits of their respective categories. Regarding the main event, David Lemieux came in at 159 lb, 10 ounces, while Marco Antonio Rubio was 159 lb, 15 oz. He was too heavy by 7oz at his first try with the weight and needed two hours to comply with the limit of 160-pounds. The fight is a WBC middleweight eliminator. 
Promoter Yvon Michel Group is delighted with the 5,000 expected spectators for the final event of the first season of this series, which has offered many exciting, strong fights. "We are very pleased with the results generated by this series of shows," said Michel. "We have achieved our goals. In the case of David Lemieux, he will fight in mandatory eliminator. Antonin Decarie, we took him to the desired level and his name is now circulating around the world to obtain big fights. Obviously, we'll come back next year with the same formula." Its up to him whether he wants it or not, I wouldn't blame him for wanting a few step ups 1st even if he destroys Rubio tonight. |

I'm in Canada where the province of Quebec broadcast the entire card as PPV (via Indigo) while the rest of the country have no access to the fight except for online streams....like we are not in the same country..typical separatist mentality in ... |
