By Yuri Tarantin, Allboxing.ru

Newly crowned WBO junior welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov (23-2, 16KOs) met with the Governor of Ugra, Natalia Komarova. Last month Provodnikov moved back down to junior welterweight and stopped Mike Alvarado in the tenth round to capture the WBO in the champion's backyard at the FirstBank Center in Denver, Colorado.

Mad respect for Provo. He embodies everything I love about the sport, very proud of him really. He is one of the few guys who I genuinely care for in the sport (as far as his well being/success is concerned).

Nice to see Ruslan getting a lot of love for what he's doing in the ring.

Really made me a fan with his no holds barred fighting style, and the fact that he is gracious in defeat. What an honorable warrior. A true throwback.
