Former three division world champion Miguel Cotto was honored by the city council of Benito Juarez in Cancun, Mexico. The Puerto Rican boxer was one of several boxing figures to get honored. Well known ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr, and promoter/former champion Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions was also honored. De La Hoya sent a representative to accept the award on his behalf.

Cotto puts his heart and soul into this sport he deserves it Cotto was born to fight :)

... Nonetheless, Cotto is a legend, a sure hall of famer, and he deserves this. Mexico recognizes warriors.
