Today Michael Katsidis came face to face with the man he will be standing across from come Friday night, Indonesia’s Eddy Comarro. Katsidis spoke at the press conference today thanking his sponsors and trainer Brendon Smith to help him get him on his way to his ring return, “There has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears shed during this training camp and I honestly can’t wait to get back in the ring, it’s been a while and I’m ready to show the world I’m back on Friday night.”

Katsidis’ trainer/manager Brendon Smith said at today’s press conference, “We have done all we can to prepare for this fight and Michael looks good in the gym but now we have to take that to the ring. He hasn’t fought for two years and this next 48 hours is the most important time of his career, he has to be able to peak at the right minute of the right hour for this fight and our work is not done until his hand is raised in victory.”
Eddy Comaro made it clear yesterday that he has come to Australia to win, with his lack of English he made it clear, “I’d like to thank Michael Katsidis for the opportunity for this fight, I will win, will knock him out.”

This fight will headline the night and is the return of Michael Katsidis “The Great” vs tough Indonesian Eddy Comaro. The card will also see Filipino star and adopted Toowoomba boy Jack “The Assassin” Asis take on Indonesia’s Arief Bladder. As well as this undefeated local star and current WBC world youth featherweight champ “The Great White” Brayd Smith against dangerous Argentine Jose Saez. Undefeated local KO artist “The Fighting Fisherman” Kris George will put his “0” on the line against fellow undefeated boxer Ozan “Crash” Craddock for the Queensland Welterweight title.

Running champion and crowd favorite Tressa “T-rex” Lindenberg will also return to the ring. Tickets to “Smithy Brings the Big fights 6” are on sale now from Smithy’s Gym where prices start at $55 for general $75 for ringside B and $95 for ringside A.

I'm a little saddened that Katsidis is stepping back into the ring. He's given more than enough to the sport. It's only going to take from here on in.
