Dereck Chisora today collected his Luxembourg Boxing Federation license in Luxembourg ahead of his fight with David Haye.

Chisora will take on Haye for the WBO International and WBA Intercontinental heavyweight titles on Saturday 14th July at West Ham United FC which is being sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation.

Haye v Chisora, boxing’s biggest grudge fight in recent memory, will be televised live and exclusive in the UK on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 456/Virgin Ch. 546).

The Finchley star was presented with his license at a packed press conference where afterwards Chisora, 28, said, "I had plenty of opportunities to be licensed by other countries, but I chose Luxembourg because they were very respectful towards me, very accommodating and friendly people and I look forward to making them proud.”

Earlier in the day he went to a local boxing gym and had a chat with the boxers about his career, background and helped with some coaching.

Tony Tiberi, General Secretary of the Luxembourg Boxing Federation, said, “Dereck Chisora is a great champion and become a hero in Luxembourg when he visited a boxing gym today and made a lot of boxers day by helping with some coaching.  We are sure he will not let the people of Luxembourg down. He will now go into the ring know as the Red Lion of Luxembourg.”

The Luxembourg Ministerial Department for Sports commented, “Dereck showed a lot of respect for the people of Luxembourg by coming here today to collect his license.  We trust that he and David Haye will put on a good display in the ring.”
