Peterson vs Cayo Eliminator is Heading To a Purse Bid
By Rick Reeno
BoxingScene.com has been advised that Victor Cayo (26-1-1, 18 KOs) vs. Lamont Peterson (24-1-1, 14 KOs) will not take place on the Amir Khan-Zab Judah undercard on July 23 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The fight has been sanctioned as a final IBF junior welterweight eliminator. Cayo-Peterson will now head to a purse bid.
Sources with knowledge of the situation have informed BoxingScene that Cayo and Golden Boy Promotions were not on the same page with respect to his contract terms. I've been told the language dealing with Golden Boy's options was a sticking point for Cayo. This is the second time that Cayo-Peterson fell apart in the last three months.
too much time spent on trying to make one fight, sucks it won't be on the undercard though.Comment by PRBOXINGCOTTO on 06-21-2011
