Peter Fury on Parting Ways With Nephew Tyson Fury

Peter Fury has confirmed that his nephew Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) will not be training under him for his comeback.

The partnership was very successful, with Tyson dethroning long-term heavyweight ruler Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015.

"He's doing his own thing, so best of luck to him," he told the latest BoxNation Podcast. "I'm just going to concentrate with young fighters - my son, and one or two others I've got around me."

Last month, Tyson revealed he is training with Ben Davison, who is good friends with Billy Joe Saunders.

"As far as I'm concerned, he's my nephew, I got him to win the world title...happiest times of our life. Whatever he does in the future I wish him all the best," said the Manchester-based cornerman.

"For me, there will never be a moment like Dusseldorf. I'm just working towards the same experience again [with Hughie]."

In September, Hughie was unsuccessful in his first world title challenge against WBO world champion Joseph Parker. The New Zealander retained his belt on the scorecards after 12 close rounds.

Fury is confident his son will learn from the experience: "I think it's a blessing in disguise. In my opinion he did win the fight with cleaner punches.

"Hughie can do a lot more. It's good in that respect that he's come away without the decision because now he's tested it, he knows what it's like. He's ready for world level, but it's whoever we can get. People are avoiding him at the moment, it's very difficult to get him fights.

"He's a fabulous talent. He'll come back a lot stronger from it. He knows the things that he should've done," he added.

Also on episode six of the BoxNation Podcast, Frank Warren answers questions from the fans, Paddy Barnes gives his take on Sho Kimura and Sunny Edwards argues why he should be facing Barnes.

Peter Fury made a fortune as a drug dealer therefore can concentrate on young fighters 🤑

Is this still all that stuff about them going to Haye's gym? Everything seems to stem from then, going out on the piss with Parkers people after he beat Hughie, lol.
