Periban: After I Beat Jack, I Want Sakio Bika Rematch
By Ryan Burton
Earlier this week BoxingScene.com caught up with super middleweight contender Marco Antonio Periban who faces Badou Jack on FoxSports2 later this evening.
In his most recent fight Periban lost a split decision to Sakio Bika for the vacant WBC title. Some observers felt Periban did enough to win the decision and he said that he plans on going for a knockout tonight.
"I learned you can't leave it to the judges decision in a fight of that magnitude. If the knockout is there you have to go for it and tonight I'm going to look for it," Periban explained.
The Mexican fighter said that he learned a lot from that fight and is a better fighter because of the experience. He said that after tonight's fight he is going to target a rematch with Bika so he can set the record straight.
"After I win that is the fight that I am targeting. I want to set the record straight. I am #2 in the world. After this fight I will be #1. I am going to call him out after the fight," Periban told BoxingScene.com.

Jack whooped him though. Rather see Jack vs BikaComment by El Angel on 09-13-2013
I'd rather see Jack-Perban 2, winner gets Bika.Comment by Sweet Pea 50 on 09-13-2013
Guess the rematch is on the backburner.
Was a very close fight between him and Jack. I scored it a draw, although the judge that scored it 96-94 for Periban is not in the wrong, either.Comment by Weebler I on 09-13-2013

Sakio Bika is a decent fighter throws wild punches needs accuracy to defeat better quality fighters, but will lose to elite champion caliber fighters.Post a Comment - View More User Comments (6)
