Bustling Cancun Boxing, created and run by businessman, newspaper owner and fight Promoter Pepe Gomez has signed an alliance with Televisa.

Pepe Gomez has helped put boxing on the map throughout Southern Mexico, and especially in the sun kissed international resort of Cancun. A spectacular highlight was in 2008, when aided by Don King, Pepe organized the first ever heavyweight World Title fight in Mexico. In that extravaganza entitled "History in Cancun," Samuel Peter TKO'd Oleg Maskaev in six rounds.

Many cracking shows have ensued. The next will be on April 12th  in the sports complex at the magnificent Grand Oasis Hotel, where undefeated Roberto "Massa" Ortiz ( 30 fights, 23 KO's 1 draw) will defend his WBC Silver super lightweight crown against Nicaragua's Elvin Perez (25 fights, 17 KO's, lost 10, draws 4).

Cancun Boxing also has a key alliance with Golden Boy Promotions.
