| Pavlik vs Rosinsky is Close For HBO Clash on July 7th
|
|
By Rick Reeno Promoter Lou DiBella has advised BoxingScene.com that super middleweight contender Will Rosinsky (16-1, 9KOs) has accepted the opportunity to face former champion Kelly Pavlik (39-2, 34KOs) on July 7th at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Both boxers have fought in the last seven days. Last Friday in Las Vegas, Pavlik stopped Scott Sigmon in the seventh round, while Rosinsky fought last night in New York City and secured a dominating eight round unanimous decision over Aaron Pryor Jr. The contracts are not signed, but DiBella, based on his conversation with Top Rank, expects the fight to finalized shortly. Pavlik-Rosinsky would replace Brandon Rios-Mauricio Herrera as the HBO televised co-feature to the super bantamweight unification between Nonito Donaire and Jeffrey Mathebula. Rios officially withdrew from the Herrera fight on Thursday with a right arm injury. Tags: Kelly Pavlik , Will Rosinsky , Pavlik vs Rosinsky , Pavlik-Rosinsky |

What I liked about Pavlik in his last fight was his variety of punches. He didn't just 1-2 all night long. He threw uppercuts, body shots, even threw while moving some. He needs to keep that up if he wants to be back in with the big boys. |

The world will be shocked when Will wins a dominant decision, if the judges don't jerk him again like in the Edwin Rodriguez fight. Will can outbox him with angles a la Hopkins on the inside or outside. Not many people understand Will's athleticism and just look at him as a tough, white brawler. ... |

Rosinsky can crack, and he has a solid chin. Pavlik gets hit ALOT. Should be a good fight. |

[QUOTE=-Kev-]That's the problem.
Pavlik has wins over Miranda and Taylor, and has fought Martinez and Hopkins. Why does he need all of these ups for? He's 30 years old, not 20. Rosinsky was a good step up for Rodriguez, or any other fighter who's just being build up.
