Former British featherweight champion Paul Appleby has received a boost in his fitness battle.
It was thought the youngster would not fight on March 12 at the Braehead Arena because of a damaged hand.
But x-rays this week have revealed the injury may not be as serious as was first feared.
It could pave the way for Appleby to box on the undercard of Ricky Burns' WBO super-featherweight title defence against Joseph Laryea.
The South Queensferry star will want to get back to winning ways after dropping a split decision against Laryea last time out.
Appleby will now train in Spain after splitting with coach Terry McCormack, but will continue to feature on Frank Warren cards in Scotland.Tags: British Boxing , Paul Appleby
