Pascal on Board For Cloud: Waiting For Showtime Date

By Ryan Burton

On Tuesday, BoxingScene.com broke the story that a clash between IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud (24-0, 19KOs), and former champion Jean Pascal (26-2-1, 16KOs), was in the works.  Shortly thereafter, BoxingScene's Jake Donovan wrote an article in which Cloud's manager and trainer Al Bonnani said that his fighter had agreed to the fight and they were just waiting to see if Pascal would agree to terms.

Pascal's advisor, Greg Leon, has informed BoxingScene that his client has agreed to face Cloud and that they were just waiting on a date.

"Pascal is fully on board. All we need is the exact date from Showtime. Both sides have already verbally agreed to terms," said Leon.

A venue hasn't been solidified yet but Leon said that the fight will most likely land on a June or July date in either Montreal or Quebec City, where the Canada-based Pascal has fought most of his career and draws massive crowds.

Great fight, I didn' think it would get done. PAscal has to do something about his conditionning, and he can definitely win this then.

I'll be skeptical until it's signed Pascal waited all this time for a chance at Dawson-Hopkins winner and less than a month away he looks to take on Cloud they talked before and no deal came about. For Cloud it…

Love this fight. Pascal has enough pop to make Cloud think twice and hurt him. Maybe more, who knows. But I think the more likely scenario is that Cloud's non-stop pressure behind the jab will slow Pascal down en route…

Good fight. Pascal can definitely win, and Cloud needs to redeem himself after getting whupped by Campillo.

These two matchup really well. This one might be foty. Pascal isnt slick enough to avoid most of Clouds onslaught. Cloud is pretty easy to hit himself. Winner fights Dawson when he beats Hopkins.
