As previously reported, eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao returned to Manila where he sat down with reporters to discuss his May 2nd twelve round decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Pacquiao says he entered the contest with a right shoulder injury and it became further aggravated during the fourth round in the contest. He had surgery on the injury on Wednesday and is likely going to remain out of the ring until 2016.
After the match, Pacquiao told reporters that despite his injury he was confident that he did enough to win the fight - after reviewing the fight several times.
'I watched the fight several times. I scored it and I believe I won by two points against Mayweather. But we have to accept the decision,'' said Pacquiao.
Pacquiao was called to task on why he would reveal the injury and make it a big issue if he felt he did enough to win the fight.
He says that even with the injury, if someone sits down to score the fight on a round by round basis - he clearly feels they would score it 115-113 in his favor.
"Even if I do not feel well after the third round, fourth round, if we look at it round by round, you'll see that we didn't lose. But like I said, we respect the decision of the judges," Pacquiao said.
Of course, Pacquiao told Mayweather to "enjoy the victory" and harbors no bad feelings towards his opponent even with the post-fight trash talk.
