WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao held a press conference in his hometown of General Santos City, Philippines and advised the local press that his team is going to negotiate a possible super-fight with WBC champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is scheduled to return on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Pacquiao believes the fight has a good chance of coming off, based on his last performance against Juan Manuel Marquez, which took place on November 12th in Las Vegas,

Pacquiao, who usually dominates the competition, struggled at certain points with the counter-punching style of Marquez and won a close twelve round majority decision.

"Negotiations are ongoing for my fight with Mayweather, but nothing is final. Mayweather may be thinking, I can fight Pacquiao now because he had trouble against Marquez, and I was able to beat up Marquez. This is what boxing fans are waiting for," Pacquiao was quoted as saying by ABS-CBN News.
