Pacquiao Date Officially Requested For The MGM on 12/8

By Rick Reeno

BoxingScene.com has been advised that Top Rank has moved forward and officially submitted a request to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, for the date of December 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas - for the anticipated return of former eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38KOs).

Pacquiao's HBO pay-per-view opponent has not been officially set down, but promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions appears confident that Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39KOs) will get the nod. The other candidate in the running is WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (29-0, 11KOs), who won a controversial split decision over Pacquiao in June. An official decision as to the opponent is expected shortly.
