Oswaldo Novoa Makes Good on Title Promise To Family

Oswaldo Novoa will return to Mexico with the WBC belt in his hands as he had promised to his wife and kids. The new WBC strawweight champion Novoa talked about his fight against Xiong Zhao Zhong in China, who he KO’d the hometown champ in the fifth round.

Before travelling to China, Novoa promised his wife Alma Fabiola Gomez and his two children, Kevin Oswaldo (4) and Melanni Esmeralda (9), that he would return to Mexico with the green and gold belt, and he fulfilled his word.

“I made a promise and I fulfilled it. All the motivation that my family gave me, stayed with me in the fight and now I will return as world champion,” Novoa concluded.
