| Osumanu Adama Stops Roman Karmazin in Nine Rounds
|
|
By Chris Labate Burbank, Illinios - The comeback of former IBF junior middleweight Roman Karmazin has probably come to an end. Osumanu Adama (20-2, 15 KOs) stopped Karmazin (40-5-2, 26 KOs) in the ninth round of an IBF middleweight eliminator. Karmazin was getting battered as his corner threw in the towel in with a minute left in the ninth. Karmazin has been inactive since last October's knockout loss to Daniel Geale. He took time off and appeared to be retired, but returned for this title opportunity after receiving an invitation from the IBF to compete in their tournament to crown a mandatory challenger to the current champion, Geale.
