In quite an upset at Foro Polanco in Mexico City, a very tired Oscar Gonzalez (23-3, 14KOs) fell apart in the tenth round due to severe exhaustion during his high paced fight with Jesus Galicia (13-7, 8KOs). Gonzalez scored a knockdown in the first and they went to war in the rounds that followed. Gonzalez started to noticeably slow down after the fourth and took punishment as they continued to trade.

After falling apart physically in the tenth, medical staff hit the ring to give him oxygen. He was quickly transported to a local hospital in Polanco and taken to the intensive care unit for observation.
