Ortiz, Mitchell vs. Arreola, Lopez, Marquez in September

By Rick Reeno

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told BoxingScene.com that his company is working on several big shows in September. Schaefer is targeting the first week of September for a card that is going to feature a potential fight between heavyweights Seth Mitchell (26-1-1, 19KOs) and Chris Arreola (35-3, 30KOs). Also being targeted for the first week of September is the return of former welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-4, 22KOs), with his potential opponent being rumored as veteran Alfonso Gomez. Former champion Rafael Marquez (41-8, 37KOs), and comebacking welterweight Josesito Lopez (30-6, 18KOs), will also be featured on the early September card.

"I'm looking at the first week of September [for Seth Mitchell vs. Chris Arreola]. I'm also looking at the return of Victor Ortiz, and the return of Josesito Lopez, and having Rafael Marquez on there as well. I'll be working on all of that," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com.
