Omar Narvaez-Felipe Orucuta Purse Bid Won By Rivero

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- With a $401,500 offer, O.R. Promotions won today the purse bid for the fight between World Boxing Organization (WBO) superflyweight champion Omar Narvaez and the #1 ranked Felipe Orucuta.

Narvaez (42-1-2, 23 KOs) promoters, O.R. Promotions, represented by Sebastian Rivero, won the purse bid over All Star Boxing, represented by Felix “Tutico” Zabala, who offered $301,000. The minimum for the purse bid was $100,000.

The purse bid was held at the WBO headquarters in San Juan and presided by WBO President, Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel.

Narvaez, a former WBO flyweight champion with 16 defenses, is going to defend his 115 pounds for the 11th time against Orucuta (29-2, 24 KOs). These fighters faced on May 25, 2013 and Narvaez won a split decision.

The promoters proposed August 30, 2014, and September 6, 2014, in Argentina for the Narvaez-Orucuta fight.

Orucuta needs to knock him out to win or they are going to rob him like they did in their last fight.
