Oleg Maskaev Reportedly To Face Owen Beck on 12/30

By Alexey Sukachev

Despite recent news of a promotional dispute between Kirill Pchelnikov and Vladimir Hryunov, two biggest Russian promoters, about the comebacking former champion Oleg Maskaev, it looks like Maskaev will fight on Dec. 30 in Troitsk, Russia.

It has been announced tonight by the sources in Pchelnikov’s promotional group, that the next in line for once the WBC champion of the world will be another “ex”, former WBA title challenger Owen Beck from Jamaica.

“The Big O” Maskaev (36-7, 27 KOs), 43, is coming back after virtually three years in retirement following his crushing KO 1 loss to Nagy Aguilera in December 2012. Beck, 36, is 29-11, with 20 KOs, and lost his last eight.

this is actually a good choice if he wants to comeback for a fight or 2. beck is just as done as maskaev so this could actually be a decent scrap between has beens or extremely boring & a waste…
