Odlanier Solis' Return is Being Targeted For March 22
by Ruslan Chikov
Cuban heavyweight contender Odlanier Solis (18-1, 12 KOs) is going to return on March 22nd in Berlin, according to his promoter Ahmet Oner of Arena Box Promotions. Eurosport will reportedly carry the event. The Olympic gold medal badly injured his knee in a first round TKO loss to Vitali Klitschko in early 2011. He was out of action until May 2012, when he won a ten round unanimous decision over Konstantin Airich. Oner had peviously told BoxingScene.com that Solis was close to a deal to face Wladimir Klitschko on April 6th, but the champion's team went in another direction.
235lb is his mark, if Solis is not close to that weight, I wont be supporting him.Comment by Freedom. on 02-13-2013
Hopefully he'll be in with a decent top 25 to 50 opponent, not another journeyman. A fringe contender like Michael Grant, Alexander Dimitrenko, Carlos Takam or Kevin Johnson would be good.Comment by ddangerous on 02-13-2013
Talk about missed potential.Comment by .:: JSFD26 ::. on 02-13-2013
