MGM Grand, Las Vegas - During the final press conference for Saul Alvarez vs. Josesito Lopez, the head of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Keith Kizer, took an unexpected swipe at HBO's broadcast team. Alvarez-Lopez headlines a Showtime televised quadrupleheader.

Kizer wasn't pleased with some of the comments that were made about the Las Vegas judges - following the aftermath of June's Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley HBO pay-per-view.

“There was another fight here on June [9], but some of the veterans [judges] at ringside that felt badly that night won’t feel so bad this time, because HBO, [Jim] Lampley and [Harold] Lederman won’t be there. I like the Showtime announcers much better,’’ Kizer said.

With dueling events on Saturday night, Kizer was also present for Wednesday's final press conference at the Wynn, where middleweights Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Sergio Martinez discussed their HBO pay-per-view main event.

If Kizer is gonna badmouth the HBO broadcast team, then he needs to criticize over 95% of press row and the rest of the world who were outraged about the Bradley/Pacquiao farce. HBO had a right to be outspoken about that one. I was seething.

He's the head of the athletic commission though. It's totally unprofessional for him to take swipes.

He simply took a swipe at the HBO commentators, which every one does. How many times has Floyd done that, and countless other fighters and promoters. He didn't directly attacked HBO the network channel in general.

[QUOTE=liraj]Kieth Kizer's just as corrupt as HBO so he shouldnt be talking. Showtime commentator's are ten times better than Lampley and Merchant. Showtime actually call's the fight's punch for punch instead of just d1ck riding the money fighter all night like HBO does.[/QUOTE] Agreed. :boxing:
