Heavyweight boxer Natu Visinia has been placed under temporary suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission after a drug test allegedly indicated the presence of the banned steroid nandrolone.

The suspension was announced during Thursday’s meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission. Visinia will be called on a later date for a full hearing before the commission, which could then decide on further punishment such as suspending his licensing and issuing a fine.

The drug test dates back to Visinia’s fight with Joey Dawejko on Aug. 28 in Las Vegas. Dawejko won that fight in 75 seconds, giving Visinia his second pro loss.

Steve Cunningham had been the first, stopping Visinia in seven rounds back in October 2014.

As he lost the Dawejko fight, the result wouldn’t be overturned due to the drug test. The 31-year-old Visinia is 11-2 with 9 KOs.
