Nathan Gorman Welcomes Daniel Dubois: He Knows Where I Am

Unbeaten Heavyweight prospect Nathan Gorman is open to taking on stablemate Daniel Dubois.

On Saturday night, the Ricky Hatton-trained heavyweight picked up the WBC International Silver Title after stopping Mohamed Soltby, moving to 11-0 (9 KOs).

It was a slow start, but Gorman knocked previously-undefeated Soltby down in the fifth round and followed up with a barrage of shots before the referee called a halt.

After the performance, one Twitter user said that 5-0 Dubois would "destroy" Gorman, to which he replied "Daniel knows where I am".

Dubois has earned five straight knockouts since turning professional, and has picked up the WBC World Youth and Southern Area Titles in his last two fights.

"There's a lot of padded records in boxing these days. Nobody wants to risk anything but I'm in this sport to take risks and win titles. I want to be mixing it with the top fighters in the Heavyweight division in two years," Gorman said.

Promoter Frank Warren has said a match-up between Dubois and Gorman could take place later next year.

“Daniel and me have already sparred numerous rounds when we were in Sheffield. All men over 15 ½ stone carry knockout power and he’s certainly no different but I’ve never been off my feet in my life," Gorman said earlier this year.

"We’re both unbeaten prospects so, if that remains the case, it’s bound to happen down the line.”

Sacrificing Gorman to Dubois :lol1: Even fight until we know more about both fighters imo. Gorman has the better resume with more durable opponents but has looked less spectacular at times. I like Dubois but people are going way overboard…

If I were Warren I'd be trying to build Gorman up a bit more before sacrificing him to Dubois. Try to get him the British title or at least the English title so it can propel Dubois up the domestic…

[QUOTE=TheBigLug;18222738]I understand that. They obviously have an advantage when starting out for those reasons. All i was saying was Gorman's boxing technique for a heavyweight is much better than most, considering his lack of experience actually boxing. I'm not just…
