Nacho; Matthysse is The Best 140-Pounder in The World

By Miguel Rivera

Hall of Fame trainer Nacho Beristain was working the corner of Felipe Orcucta on Saturday night in Buenos Aires, as the young Mexican fighter lost a twelve round split decision to WBO super flyweight champion Omar Narvaez. After the match, Nacho praised the current state of boxing in Argentina - as Sergio Martinez, Narvaez, Marcos Maidana and Lucas Matthysse continue to position themselves among the best in the world.

"Argentina is experiencing a golden moment in boxing. Narvaez has been a world champion for more than a decade. Sergio Martinez has a technical capacity that I have rarely seen. The power of Lucas Matthysse and his triumph over Lamont Peterson has made him the best 140-pounder in the world. And 'Chino' Maidana is a fighter that has to be respected by any welterweight. They are ambassadors from a highly respected school in places that are known for boxing. Argentina has talent to spare and that has given them a healthy envy [from other countries]," Nacho said.

[QUOTE=Frank Ducketts;13423940]Total opposite? You're either right or wrong in picking fights: Simple. You either win by decision or stoppage. I was right when the supposed iron chinned Margarito was ko'd by Shane when many didn't think that could happen, and…

[quote=bojangles1987] I find it hilarious that people say great movement and boxing beats Matthysse, which it certainly can, but then pick Garcia to win. When the lump has Danny Garcia showed great movement? The guy's a fighter, he exchanges. If…
