Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs) would still like to achieve his goal of winning a fifth divisional title.
Marquez's Hall of Fame trainer, Nacho Beristain, says their options for such a fight are pretty small. Floyd Mayweather Jr., who holds the WBC/WBA welterweight titles, dominated Marquez in a one-sided fight in 2009 and very few people are interested in seeing them fight again.
Manny Pacquiao holds the WBO crown and defends the belt on November 22nd against Chris Algieri. Marquez has faced Pacquiao four times already and pretty much took a pass on a fifth meeting.
That leaves IBF champion Shawn Porter (24-0-1, 15KOs), who defends his title against Kell Brook (32-0, 22KOs) on August 16th. Nacho says Porter's style is a perfect fit for his boxer.
"I would like the match with Porter [for Marquez], because he is a top fighter who comes forward [and fights]," Nacho said.
