Murray; Rios Came at The Right Time, I Can Beat Him

Manchester's John Murray will challenge WBA World Lightweight Champion Brandon Rios for his title on Saturday 3rd December at New York's Madison Square Garden, LIVE on BoxNation.

The 26-year-old will feature on the undercard of WBA World Welterweight Champion Miguel Cotto's rematch against Antonio Margarito.

It will be televised LIVE and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Platform Ch. 456) - the UK's first and only dedicated fight channel.

This will be Murray's first fight back after his loss to Kevin Mitchell in July when he lost his unbeaten record to the Londoner in a thriller.

Murray, who has already fought three times in America, is not fazed by going into Rios' backyard and is confident of pulling of an upset.

He said, "I'm over the moon with this opportunity and I'm not going over to New York to make up the numbers - I can win this."

"The fight will be on live BoxNation and I'm delighted that the country will get to see me in action at the most famous boxing arena in the world,"

"Rios is class act, he's one of the top men in the lightweights and it's not going to be easy for me, but I believe this has come at the right time and I can beat him,"

"Fighting in America doesn't bother me, I've fought in Las Vegas twice and in Florida so it won't be anything that I haven't seen already, in fact I'm looking forward to causing an upset at the Mecca of boxing"

"Don't judge me on the Mitchell fight, you will see a completely new John Murray on the night."
