According to a report by Courier Mail, former welterweight champion Joshua Clottey (37-4, 22KOs) is being considered as the late replacement for Anthony Mundine (45-5, 27KOs), who returns on January 29th in Brisbane. Mundune's original opponent, Carson Jones, withdrew with the flu.

With ten days remaining before the show, promoter Khoder Nasser is desperately trying to find a new opponent.

Nasser admits that he seriously doubts Clottey will accept the fight on such short notice, and if he doesn't accept they are planning to secure Clottey for Mundine's following fight.

The entire event is potentially going to be canceled.

"We're not going to be able to get him here on 10 days' notice. Our plan was for him to be Anthony's next opponent," Nasser said.

"Nothing's hard to believe in boxing - anything can happen at any time. We'll be trying our very best to make this event go ahead. Anthony has a vision of the boxers he wants to be fighting."

It's nice to see Clottey is still alive and active. Dude barely threw a punch against Pacquiao back in 2010. I thought he was banned from boxing after that *****ty performance.

Mundine is c level, and Mosley threw that fight, it was so obvious, 2 years ago and Mosley would have beat him to a pulp.

Looks like they're trying to get him fights against a series of names to sell him as a big fight threat.
