Mosley vs. Cano: WBC To Salute 'Sugar' Shane in Mexico

By Miguel Rivera

The World Boxing Council (WBC) will pay tribute to former three division world champion Shane Mosley, 41-years-old, for his 20-year career when he faces Mexican Pablo Cesar Cano on the 18th of May in Cancun. Mosley, who debuted on February 11, 1993, will be honored at the show, according to WBC president Jose Sulaiman. Mosley (46-8-1, 39 KO's) will face Cano (26-2-1, 20 KO's) at the Oasis Hotel and the show will also feature Sergio “Yeyo” Thompson (30-2-0, 28 KO’s) and Ricardo “Rocky” Juárez (29-10-1, 21 KO’s) on the undercard. Televisa and Fox Sports Deportes will televise.

"You have to give him credit for what he did in his career and what he gave to boxing," Sulaiman said. "The WBC want to do a tribute to him in Cancun. We view this fight as a retirement fight. He was an outstanding fighter and a great champion for the World Boxing Council," Sulaiman said.

Is Mosley broke? Seriously because if he loses this one, it's not going to look good.
