BoxingScene.com recently caught up with six-time champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley to get his thoughts on a potential rematch between pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. and WBC/Lineal middleweight champion Miguel Cotto. Their first fight took place at the junior middleweight limit in 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Floyd won via unanimous decision in a competitive fight.

Negotiations to finalize a mega-fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are ongoing but many insiders feel that Cotto will likely end up facing Floyd in May.

A catchweight of 154.5 pounds has been rumored for the potential Mayweather-Cotto rematch and if the fight does take place, Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach will be in Cotto's corner. Pedro Diaz was in his corner for their first encounter.

Mosley has faced both men in the ring and feels that a rematch against Cotto won't be an easy task for Mayweather.

"It would be an interesting fight. Cotto seems to have brought a lot of power to the bigger divisions so we will see what happens. Maybe Floyd wants to pick up a middleweight title before he ends his career. That is still a great fight. That is not an easy fight for Floyd and Floyd knows that," Mosley told BoxingScene.com.
